Memory Houses

The Maisons Mémoire project is a series of exhibitions created by the team at the Musée acadien du Québec, in collaboration with the Gaspé community. This community project highlights Acadian heritage houses and buildings.

The aim of the Maisons Mémoire project is to promote awareness of the rich architectural heritage in our region and to encourage the public to take an interest in its preservation.

Every winter, a new house is featured in our temporary exhibition hall. The public is invited to submit their applications at any time for a chance to enjoy a unique museum experience!

A UNIQUE MUSEUM EXPERIENCE

By participating in the Maisons Mémoire project, you will have access to the resources of the Musée acadien du Québec to develop an exhibition that tells the story of your home.

During your meetings with the curator, you will have access to our documentation center's archives and the objects in our collection to enhance the content of your exhibition.

Our communications resource will handle the promotional aspect of the exhibition and organize an opening night (vernissage) to share the fruits of your research with the community!
