Sale of items from the Acadian Museum of Quebec
Bonaventure, April 15, 2024 – The Musée acadien du Québec (MAQ) invites you to an auction of items to be held from April 26 to 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the PEC multipurpose room at the Centre Récréatif Desjardins (Bonaventure arena). This sale includes several hundred items formerly in the museum's collection, including a large selection of furniture, tools, and equipment.
Among the six thousand objects in the collection, the MAQ carefully selects those that are preserved according to specific themes related to Acadian history in Quebec. As a result, several pieces must be sold because there are many identical copies or because they do not fit with the collection's focus.
"By giving objects a second life, the public actively participates in their history, while financially supporting the MAQ in its mission to preserve and promote Acadian heritage." — Laurie Beaudoin, curator.
Dates and times: April 26 to 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: PEC multipurpose room at the Desjardins Recreation Center (Bonaventure arena).
Payment methods: debit, credit, and cash.
Conditions: no delivery available. Items sold must be taken away at the time of purchase.
The profits from this sale will be reinvested in the preservation of Acadian heritage and the acquisition of new items for the MAQ collection.
