Une Acadie québécoise

Did you know? Over a million Quebecers are of Acadian descent! Our permanent exhibition highlights the importance and unique characteristics of this heritage.

The settlement of Acadians in Quebec

From deportation to settlement

This exhibition presents the Acadian influence on Quebec's geography and toponymy. Places such as Magdalen Islands, the North Shore, and villages such as Saint-Grégoire-de-Nicolet, Saint-Gervais-de-Bellechasse, Saint-Jacques-de-Montcalm, L'Acadie, Carleton, and Bonaventure still bear witness to this Acadian presence in Quebec.

Une Acadie québécoise

Genealogy, agriculture, architecture, and language—Acadia colors many facets of Quebec culture.

Take advantage of your trip to the Gaspé Peninsula to discover the treasures of our collections, objects, and photographs, while learning about the history of the first French colony in North America!

Located in Bonaventure , the Musée acadien du Québec offers activities suitable for the whole family, as well as services in French and English.

Educational activities

Your experience is important to us. That's why we've developed two activities that will allow all members of the family to discover the treasures of our collection through fun and entertaining games.
