Framed portrait under glass, vertical rectangular format. Stain at bottom left. The photograph is covered with a plasticized membrane. No transcription on the back of the portrait.
Value of the item
The photograph depicts an Acadian woman from Bonaventure. According to the database, she may be Marthe Arsenault, the wife of Pierre Poirier. The painting is linked to another item held by the Museum, 1980.F.82, which bears the following inscription: "Photograph of Pierre-Lévis Poirier (1837-1891). Son of Charles and Marie-Louise Cavanagh. Married Marthe Arsenault (1842-1928) on January 12, 1863."
