Vertical oval frame. Enhanced with pencil. Transliteration: "Donation to the Acadian Museum by Léopold Bernard / 14228 / Marguerite Arsenault 1872-1938 daughter of Jean-Louis, sister of Frédéric, Alexis. She married Alexis Bernard, who was Sylvestre's brother."

Value of the item

The photograph shows an Acadian woman from Bonaventure. She is believed to be Marie-Marguerite Arsenault (1871-1938), daughter of Jean-Louis Arsenault and Zoé Bourdages. She married Alexis Bernard (1855-1907) on February 14, 1893. The Museum also has a portrait of one of her parents in 1985.F.5, and her husband in 1980.F.37.
