Photograph framed under glass. Transliteration: "The mother of Aunt Marie Arsenault (Mrs. Ovide Allard) born around 1816 [incorrect information] / Died at 104 [years old]."
Value of the item
The photograph may show an Acadian woman, possibly Louise Audet (1808–1883), who married Frédérick-Régis Arsenault in Carleton in 1840. Louise is the daughter of Pierre Audet and Louise Arsenault. Together, Louise Audet and Frédérick Arsenault had several children, including a daughter, Marie, who married Ovide Allard in 1871, hence the transcription.
