There is some confusion between what is written on the back of the portrait—Elizabeth Arsenault—and the information in the database for this same portrait, which mentions that it is a woman named Delphine Arsenault. Context to be documented.
1) If it is Delphine (information in the Museum's database): Delphine Arsenault is the daughter of Félix Arsenault and Louise Alain, from Rivière à l'Anguille (New Brunswick). She married Zéphirin Bourdages (second wife) on October 21, 1862. (Urbain Arsenault, p. 9; Arsenault dictionary p. 248 B). The Museum also has a portrait of Zéphirin Bourdages (1980.F.44)
2) If this is Élizabeth (information on the back of the portrait): on the back, it is mentioned that the portrait was donated by Léo Bourdages and that it is Élizabeth Arsenault, wife of Zéphirin Bourdages. It is also said that Élizabeth is Ovid's mother.
