En D’sour du Prélart: Talk show with Pierre-André Bujold

Artist Pierre-André Bujold presents a talk-show on traditional songs from Baie-Des-Chaleurs. En D’sour du Prélart will be presented every Mondays and Tuesdays from July 11 to August 23 at 7 p.m. in the Gospel Chapel on the grounds of the Musée acadien du Québec.

After receiving a grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the artist searched through the archives of several institutions to collect hundreds of traditional songs that were recorded in Baie-des-Chaleurs between the 1950s and 1980s. This research led him to meet with elders in the region to investigate the people who delivered these songs.

With the talk-show In D’sour du PrélartPierre-André Bujold wants to give people in the region and the descendants of these singers access to these songs once again. This is an opportunity to pay tribute to these men and women who played such an important role in passing on the culture of their time.

During the performances, the audience will discover village stories, accounts of encounters with elders, moments of listening to archives, and sound arrangements. The audience will be invited to engage in dialogue with the artist and will influence the content of the talk-show based on family names and their origins in Baie-des-Chaleurs.
