Bonaventure, April 1, 2025 — This year, the Musée acadien du Québec (MAQ) is reaching an important milestone as it celebrates its 35th anniversary! Since its opening in 1990, the MAQ has been committed to promoting and preserving Quebec's Acadian heritage. This anniversary is an opportunity to look back on our journey and celebrate our mission through educational and fun activities.

To celebrate this moment, we dug into our archives to bring out precious memories that have marked the history of the MAQ. Throughout the year, we will share a series of commemorative posts on our social media channels, inviting you to discover the highlights that have shaped our journey.

Show: Acadia in Choir
Friday, May 23, at 8 p.m., at the Bonaventure Church.

What luck! The choir Jeunes chanteurs d'Acadie will be touring this spring and will make Bonaventure their only stop in Quebec! Founded in 1969, this choir is composed of about forty singers, aged 11 to 18. Over the years, it has gained an international reputation thanks to its remarkable performances and varied repertoire of classical, traditional, and modern compositions.

The show L’Acadie en chœur offers a one-hour journey through the rich history of the Acadians. Through contemporary poetry, traditional Acadian folklore, dance, and religious and modern songs, this concert offers a touching and renewed look at Acadian culture. The first part will be performed by the group Troiselle. Tickets on sale now!

Our mission: Through its exhibitions, collection, and human approach, the MAQ celebrates the heritage of Quebec's Acadians, from colonization to the present day.
