July 11 – Inauguration of the Arsenault-Gallagher House Heritage Trail
The Musée acadien du Québec (MAQ), in collaboration with La Ruelle Fourrure et Hébergement, invites you to discover the Arsenault-Gallagher House Heritage Trail during an opening cocktail reception on Sunday, July 11, at 3 p.m. The public is invited to take a free tour of the trail with owners Marie-Josée Dugas and Serge Boulanger, as well as the team from the Musée acadien du Québec. No reservation is required.
The result of the Maisons Mémoire project and a crazy dream
The Arsenault-Gallagher heritage house is the very first house in the Maisons Mémoire series, produced and presented by the MAQ. Each year, this series of exhibitions showcases houses that were inhabited and/or built by Acadians. Beyond their architectural features, the series highlights the historical and social values of these places of memory. From February to June 2021, the Arsenault-Gallagher House was the subject of an exhibition at the MAQ. More than 100 hours of historical research went into making this crazy project a reality!
A trail accessible to all
The Maisons mémoire project is taking off for the second time, transforming from a museum exhibition into an outdoor heritage trail on the site of the Arsenault-Gallagher house. Various interpretive panels are located along a trail that has been carefully and creatively designed by owners Marie-Josée Dugas and Serge Boulanger. The outdoor trail traces more than 200 years of Petit-Bonaventure history. Starting July 11, the trail will be open daily for self-guided tours. Visitors are invited to simply go to the address provided and enjoy the layout created by the owners.

The invitation is extended for Sunday, July 11, at 3 p.m., to discover the fruit of several years of work and passion on the part of the owners and the community.
